Using white boards is a daily activity in my classroom. Students are able to quickly write words, sentences, and complete math problems. Whiteboards allow me to see exactly how students are grasping new concepts. Students show their work, and I can provide immediate feedback. This allows me to check for understanding of new concepts being taught, and provides the students a quick and easy way to show and share their work. My current whiteboards have areas that students can no no longer write. My classroom set of whiteboards is over 15 years old! Many are chipped, stained, and cracked along the edges.
By donating to this project, you will help to improve and increase student attention and focus, and help to increase my students' academic achievement through increased participation.
White boards allow all students to respond to questions, which keeps my third grade students engaged in learning. Students love to take ownership of their own learning and to illustrate what they know as they increase their knowledge in subject areas. Excitement and student engagement will surely increase with these new supplies in their hands.
