This year we are focusing on implementing workstations or centers into our daily routines. During literacy and math, my students get into groups of 3 or 4 to work in centers or with the teacher to reinforce the skills they are learning. My students will be using the reading and math centers daily during workstation time. Each of the reading and math centers is an excellent way to get my students actively engaged in learning!
My students seem to learn best with hands-on activities, so I am excited to see my students use these centers while actively learning and improving their literacy and math skills. I am asking for magnetic tiles and dress up costumes to allow my students the ability to think freely and use their imagination through play. The set of magnetic ten frames will allow the students to work on counting, adding, and subtracting numbers with ten frames. Finally, I am asking for a jumbo write and wipe board to work with smaller groups on some targeted areas such as writing the alphabet and numbers. This board will allow me to work with the children at a comfortable area in the classroom.
