My high school special education students are very hyper-sensitive to being identified as special needs students by their peers, and so will not agree to a photo shoot for this project. This is the artwork of one of them.
My students have been limited in their access to the full K-12 educational experience as they are in a maximum resource setting. This project seeks to address their participation in the larger community and to stimulate creativity as they look towards the future as adults with the need to provide for themselves and their families.
