I have about 100 students in my English classes. Many of them are already motivated and eager to learn. Some lack motivation and determination. But all share the same interests; they want to succeed. My students are about 99% Hispanic. My students come from an inner-city Title I school.
Many of them come to school despite the odds that are in their favor. The surrounding neighborhoods are full of gangs, drugs, and poverty. Despite all that, these students show up everyday, ready to learn and ready to start their future.
