I want my students to read Wonder. Very few books are about special needs children, let alone about their feelings on everyday life. Students need to understand that their words and actions have an effect on others around them. This book is the perfect example of that life lesson.
I will use this book in conjunction with writing exercises. I will also encourage students to discuss their feelings before, during, and after our daily readings. I am hoping that my students will learn to be more considerate of other people's feelings and to think before they speak, act, or type anything online.
