With the use of the Chromebooks I am attempting to procure, the students would be able to use these resources for various research-based and project-based assignments where technology would be used as an added resource. Some of the students do not have easy access to technology outside of school, thus it becomes a difficult task of completing projects outside of school hours. With easier access to technology in the classroom, this will enable students to complete the projects I assign them, not to mention conduct additional research on topics we've discussed in class. Some examples of projects that I plan to use these resources for include building a colony, creating a presidential candidate and creating the campaign their candidate will use, and building a city set in the early 20th century.
In addition to using the technology for various projects, the students will utilize the technological resources for guided centers, mainly used for research of additional materials to questions students may have developed regarding topics we've discussed and additional research to continue the story of topics we've discussed. The technology used will create a more interactive environment for students to use with research, will help them harness technological skills necessary to thrive in the 21st century, and will help them find and use various resources in their future academic and professional careers.
