These iPads will be installed with Lexia Core 5 which is a computer based phonics program. The program will have each student take a diagnostic test and then place students at their independent level and will meet individual student needs. Students can work on this program and develop skills from pre-k to grade 6. The iPads will also be installed with other math and reading programs that will help supplement the curriculum. iReady is another reading and math program that provides lessons for students at their independent level so that their instruction is differentiated and meets their needs. The district has set growth targets for Lexia growth and Lexia usage. Having tablets means that more of my students will be able to use these programs every day.
