My students enter the classroom every day eager to improve their musicianship, technique in their instrument, and ability to work in an ensemble. The school is located in rural NC, and several students come from lower socioeconomic households. These students rely on the band program to provide them with the materials needed to be a successful musician.
For many students, music has given them the opportunity to express themselves, find success at school as well as learn life skills, such as accountability and responsibility.
