Writing doesn't always happen at a desk. It happens at coffee shops, in bed, on the couch, in the car. Writing happens everywhere!
Let's face it, not all students work best at a desk. This is why I would like to offer students a variety of places to work and collaborate. I'd like tables for students to sit and share work, and active seating stools to keep students engaged in their work. Countless research articles have found a strong correlation between small amounts of movement and increased brain activity. Simply put, the small amounts of movement afforded by these active seating tools allows students to focus on their work for longer periods of time. Increased engagement means more opportunities to learn and grow as writers.
In fact, I've seen firsthand the increased engagement, stamina and passion for learning that comes with these tools. I've seen them motivate students and engage them to sustain longer periods of work time. For those reasons and more, it's my hope that I can add them into my classroom so that my students can benefit from their research acknowledged benefits.
A writer who is engaged is a writer who can create, reflect and find answers to complex problems. That's why I hope that you can support our community of writers by making a small donation towards their purchase.
