Students learn in a variety of ways. Some are visual learners, some auditory, and others are tactile. Most of us teachers figure out our student's method of learning by observations, work samples, and verbal and written testing. What happens when you simply cannot assess and/or teach a student with these traditional methods independently?
99% of my students have Autism. They are non verbal, cannot produce written work samples, and do not have enough hand strength to manipulate concrete objects. They are adjusting to structure in a school setting and need visual aids in the form of technology for instruction and assessment.
