By incorporating a color printer into my class, my special education and general education students engagement will improve because they will comprehend the materials being taught. I have printed out informational text that includes images in color, in which my students were able to discuss more in depth the article, just by seeing the image in color. With a color printer and ink, my students will be able to create and print out colorful maps that shows Salva's challenges as a lost boy in war torn country, South Sudan, while reading our class novel "A Long Walk to Water." Or Laskhsimi's challenges as she faces Chappaudi in her country Nepal. By having a color printer in the classroom, my students will be able to print out color photos relating to our unit of study, which will increase their engagement, the topic that is being taught, and expand their knowledge on culture, and how place plays a key role in an individual's life. I am a firm believer that students comprehend a task when they are actively involved in their learning, and have the ability to create colorful visual projects.
