First grade is all about laying the foundation for reading. My goal is for all of my students to leave first grade confident and eager readers, but we need to start small. When it's time for my excited readers to grab their book bins, cozy up in their reading spots, and browse through their book bins, I dream of there being "just-right" books in every student's hands. But right now, due to limited A-D leveled books, this isn't the case. My hope is that each of my emerging readers will have just-right level A-D books available to them to help foster their love of reading. These books will not only help my current students, but also countless students in the future. Having this collection of books in my classroom library will promote good reading habits, as well as a passion and love for reading, that are essential for all children!
