As a first year teacher, I do not have the funds to supply all of my students with necessary supplies, such as crayons, markers, scissors, etc. Because the majority of the students live in low income areas, they are not able to buy the proper materials for themselves either. By having all of my students prepared with the supplies they need to succeed, they will be able to participate in engaging activities and centers. As of now, my students have been using old, used markers and broken crayons that are not suitable for the activities I want them to participate in. Therefore new materials, that include scissors, markers, crayons and alphabet stampers, will help my students engage and take pride in their work, making it the best they can.
