Number the Stars by Lois Lowry has a powerful message of bravery and friendship. The story takes place in a time that must be shared, during the Nazi's invasion of Europe. This story teaches tolerance, empathy, and historical events.
My students learn best when they can see the words and hear the words. My students will follow along in the book while the audio version reads to them. This allows all students to have access to the material. This combination of seeing and hearing the words will help my students strengthen their comprehension skills, advance spelling, and improve writing practices.
But most importantly, this project allows my students to develop and maintain a love of reading.
