Scholastic News Magazine is an incredible resource that allows students to read and understand about the world around them in a kid friendly way. The students not only get excited when the magazines are delivered, but even more when they realize they can take them home and share them with their families. The magazines are colorful and contain nonfiction text that engages them, while making sure each issue meets the state and national standards.
Scholastic Magazine allows students to stay informed and prepares them to become critical thinkers. Each issue comes with tools to support and strengthen literacy, science, and social studies in the classroom. A subscription will also allow access to videos and lots of other online resources. I teach a gifted third grade classroom in the morning and a regular education classroom in the afternoon. Both rooms have 35 students, so ordering the third and fourth grade magazines provides me the opportunity to enrich the students in the morning, while supporting the curriculum for my students in the afternoon. This magazine is a valuable resource that will create strong, independent readers and thinkers!
