My project idea is inspired by providing before school/ after school tutorial program for student-athletes by implementing various 21st century technology techniques based on the student’s preferred learning style. Sports Tutorial program is to supplement sound educational practices (i.e. class attendance, note taking, reviewing and preparing for quizzes and exams) that are imperative for the academic success of student-athletes. Tutorial and review sessions are NOT a replacement for class, but rather a supplement to the experience. Tutoring is offered either on a one-on-one basis or in a group setting. I will work with student-athletes to set semester, weekly, and daily goals in the courses they are tutoring, as well as a plan to achieve those goals. With the requested laptops I would be able to expand and engage my students' learning beyond the classroom to include other areas around the world, their home, their lives, and their community. Technology has revolutionized the way we think, work, and play. Technology, integrated into the student-athlete’s tutorial curriculum, will revolutionizes their learning process, and improves students' learning processes and outcomes. I am sure if the student-athletes are given opportunities to learn and have access to technology like other children do that this will help them succeed in school and in Sports.
