My students come from a school district near St. Louis, MO, that has about an 80% poverty level. Many of the parents are illiterate and do not know what skills to teach their students at home. Our school is for pre-school and kindergarten students who are labeled "at-risk" for learning or behavior disabilities. We try to intervene at this young age and give the students as many learning opportunities as possible so they are successful in school.
