The books supplied by this project will be used for a cross curricular activity in my IB Environmental Systems and Societies class. This project will supply a book to each student in order to read at home and discuss at school in socratic seminars.
We will discuss not only our effect on the environment, but also economics, anthropology, psychology and ethics. We discuss our own environmental value systems as well as the "leavers and takers" discussed in the book. The students are able to connect to the book and it's relatable writing style. They are able to connect with the book no matter their race, cultural, gender or economic background.
