I'm Ms. K, and I am a fifth grade teacher at an urban elementary school in Boston. My students are all warm-hearted, eager scholars who LOVE to learn. Our classroom is a growth-mindset centered community in which students always strive to do their best. Our school sets high expectations for our scholars, because we know that they have the potential to reach them. The vast majority of my students come from low-income backgrounds, and for many of them, school is a safe haven. We work together to cultivate a warm, supportive learning environment that values everyone's ideas. In our classroom, we celebrate mistakes as part of the learning process and all work as a team to push everyone's learning further. To summarize, students in 5D are lively, welcoming individuals who value their education and deserve access to tools that will help them reach their potential.
