Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read about our classroom! I have a wonderful group of 6th graders who receive special education services and whose present levels are in an urgent intervention stage in both English Language Arts and Mathematics.
I do the very best I can with the resources I can find (paid & free). The hard part is that all of my students, although all in an urgent intervention stage, are at a variety of ability levels within urgent intervention. Hence, a "one size fits all" approach is not effective.
Having access to a true system of a variety of grade level curriculum and lessons and practice that adapt based on student ability will allow each student to work on their respective individual needs. Data tracking and efficient ongoing progress monitoring will give me the best opportunity to have each learner in our classroom reach their fullest potential and close achievement gaps.
