Our school serves a low income community where the majority (98%) of the students are on free and reduced breakfast and lunch. My students are extremely dedicated to school and want to learn. They are excited to come to school everyday and learn new things. Many are bringing home the knowledge they learn in class and are becoming the teachers at home. I expect great things from my students and have high expectations. I believe if you set high goals then they will reach them. My class works together at a team to set goals in math. They set a class percentage and work hard as a whole to reach and or exceed that goal with each new math topic. The students are learning that setting a goal helps them to challenge themselves and to help others to be the best they can be. I hope the goal setting will help them to strive to be the best they can be during their educational journey.
