We have a very diverse population in our community. We many English Language Learners who have just come to America after the devastation of Hurricane Maria! In our school the majority of the ESL students speak Spanish. Some children come into my classroom having only arrived to the United States a few days before and do not speak or understand English. How very scary for these brave children! But what a joy seeing the most is how qyuickly they start learning their new language. I am always amazed by their desire to succeed in school.
Our District just started a new reading program. In order for this program to be successful, our students need headphones since this is an individualized program designed to move students at their own pace These headphones will enhance their learning experience. Unfortunately out budget doesn't always meet the needs of our students.
We desperately need these headphones!
About my class
