The Chromebooks I need for my classroom will serve as a resource for all my students when they need to research for classroom projects and activities, whether it is to find the origin of a word or expression, or a particular historical event that helps them understand the culture of the countries where the target language is spoken, or simply the meaning of a word while they are reading a passage or a poem in the target language. However, the Chromebooks will be a key learning tool especially for my students with special needs, who require extra support to learn the foreign language I teach. These are students who have a hard time focusing on task, who need colorful and clear visuals, as well as music accompanying the language and the vocabulary being taught. These students will have access to on line language learning programs that will keep them focus on task while absorbing the language the natural way, by being exposed to the language within the context of supporting images, spoken language, with music and other sounds as background, etc.
