Technology is no longer an accessory to education; it is an essential tool for learning. Students are growing up in a world completely integrated with technology. It is a part of their daily lives. The Dremel 3D printer would be used regularly in the computer lab in grades K-6. It would be used in conjunction with classroom projects in math and science as well as in our own curriculum involving coding, problem solving, and learning new software.
Transforming the concepts of computer programming, coding, and critical thinking into a tangible object the children can see and feel makes the experience much more powerful.
Mathematical concepts such as circumference, volume, area and perimeter, ratios and proportions can be given real world applications. The possibilities are numerous and applicable to many areas of learning outside of STEM as well. It's the perfect tool to help math and science come alive.
