To help my students continue to build upon our learning about the power of YET, I would like to introduce them to coding. My students have started to apply this power of yet to their learning, and are excited when they learn something new because " [their] brain just grew!" I believe that introducing coding will help them to continue that line of thinking, and persevering
I have seen how coding has helped my previous first grade students build stamina for solving a problem, as well as develop critical thinking skills. We were able to borrow dash robots from another teacher, and to see my students learning how to program and control them was amazing. They were also able to take these skills and apply them to other subject areas; solving, understanding, and creating math problems, stamina for sticking to their reading, and creating engineering solutions. I would love to provide these opportunities for my current and future students by being able to have the supplies continually available in my classroom for their use.
