My students use a modified curriculum called Unique Learning. It is all based online, there are no text books or workbooks from which the children to look at or work from. I print out all story books and worksheets for them and we only have a black and white printer. The students would enjoy and show more interest if it were in color. They need vibrant, colorful visuals to help in learning and on-task behavior.
My students have physical and mental impairments which make it difficult for them to use a computer and computer mouse. We only have one working children's computer in our classroom and there are tons of websites and applications that would help reinforce things such as the letters of the alphabet, colors, shapes, and numbers. That is why I believe my students would benefit from having a classroom Apple iPad. Not only is it touch screen, it is portable for them to use from anywhere in the classroom.
