For our class, we are asking for 25 copies of the book Crenshaw. This is a great book that touches on lots of topics relevant to my students such as poverty and the power of imagination. This book is a great opportunity not only to expose students to a new book but also for students to feel like they have a connection to a book and feel that their story can be heard as well.
My class this year loves to read and because of this, I would like to do a novel study with them this year. This novel would allow us to do many literacy and writing activities.
