In the spring of 2016 the P.E. teacher and I decided to bring our school's over grown nature trail back to life. It took a lot of work but we got the path cleared of trees, weeds, and branches. Now that the path is clear, the kids need places to sit.
Adding benches for students and teachers, will encourage the use of this wonderful space. Our hope is that classes sit under the big trees, enjoy fresh air, and learn. Classes may want to read or write surrounded by nature.
Some teachers have already used the trail for science lessons. The students are painting "Kindness" rocks to line the sides of the trail during classroom guidance. The Environment Club and Healthy Habits Club are working diligently to spread mulch throughout the trail.
If we all work together, we can make our nature trail a beautiful place for students, teachers, and families.
