My students need resources to practice solving problems they might face in their future. The Osmo Pizza Co. allows my students to take pizza orders, prepare the pizza, calculate a price and make the correct change to give to their customer. I want to prepare my students to be money aware and educated consumers. The paper cutter will help them creatively advertise for their business. It important to educate them on how marketing is involved in the retail world. Math manipulatives and stories are needed to build their math foundation and connect to the vocabulary needed to understand what they are doing.
