Every day students enter my classroom and take their seats. The routine is to retrieve books from a spot in the room and begin their opening work. Throughout the typical 90 minutes they spend with me, math is in the air, music is in their ears, and they are working as hard as they can. They move throughout the room to retrieve items and also participate in movement with dance or exercise inside the classroom.
Imagine for a moment, having the chance to stand or sit while doing your work.
This is the opportunity I want to give to my students, but I cannot do it on my own. These desks will afford students the opportunity to move within their own space, as well as allowing me to redevelop the classroom with individualized working spaces.
