Young children need hands-on interactions with three dimensional manipulatives to help facilitate learning math concepts, to discuss their mathematical reasoning and thinking, enables them to find multiple ways to solve math problems, and helps them to demonstrate new knowledge and skills.
My students will benefit immensely from the supplies you donate which in turn will enrich their learning and capabilities in the future. They will use these manipulatives to develop number sense, to develop their understanding of addition by creating and explaining addition problems, with the lowercase playdough stamps they can spell words and write sentences, practice place value with 10 bases blocks, and demonstrate subtracting and adding on number line mats.
Our school has only been able to provide us with a few resources and materials. Without the help of generous donors, we can not afford to provide our students with the comprehensive hands on learning that every child deserves. Please help me to get my students the supplies we need for a successful first year of learning.
