Currently there are four iPads for my classroom of twenty-four students that my classroom received from a school grant the district applied for and was awarded two years ago. As a result of implementing iPads into the classroom, students have become more focused and engaged as they collaborate and create products using the technology. However, the limited number of iPads available makes it very difficult for students to have complete ownership in some of the projects because they just don’t get the opportunity to have the iPad in their hands enough to maximize their potential. It is difficult on an instructional level because one iPad is being shared amongst groups of three to four with six students in each group. With the implementation of an additional two more iPads in the classroom, more students will be able to research using multiple resources, learn how to differentiate what resources are credible, produce a product from the research and present that product to an audience in a more timely and engaging manner.
