Our students reside in rural Warreton, NC where most of them are from low socioeconomic backgrounds. We are a school where our students receives 100% free/reduce lunch. However, despite the circumstances, our students are hungry for knowledge and new experiences. This is evident by their incredible commitment to wake up each morning, some rising as early as 4:30AM to catch the bus to school. In fact, 100% of our students graduate with a high school diploma and Associates degree. Everyday they come to school ready to face the day, despite their hardships.
鈥淭he purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly without fear for newer and richer experience.鈥
Many of my students have never been outside of our rural small town of Warrenton, North Carolina. The goal of this trip is to help supplement transportation for my students to the Washington, D.C African American Museum. This experience will help provide them with an opportunity that will change their lives forever.
Help us provide our students the opportunity of exposure. Help us satisfy their hunger for life changing experiences and the world outside of our school walls.
