The books requested for this project will be used in conjunction with classroom science curriculum and support the development of non-fiction reading skills. Adding these titles to our library catalog begins to fill a huge void in our overall non-fiction book collection at the primary grade level. The average age of books in our entire collection is over 25 years old and the non-fiction books at the K-2 level is non-existent. We need to refresh our resources and begin to build a STEM component that is accessible to our students.
