My students are currently reading The Watsons Go to Birmingham. This novel is funny, engaging, and still very relevant! These students are begging me to continue reading, and to even take the books home so they can read on their own! Our books have been used for goodness knows how long! The spines are ripped apart, and the pages are falling out! All I can do is tape them back up and hope for the best. I only have a few that are in decent shape. The students know that these are what we have to work with and work very hard to keep them in the best shape, given the circumstances.
