I have a designated space for my classroom library. My kids love going into our classroom library and exchange their books as they finish one. This is their most favorite time of day. Unfortunately, the old, broken-down book shelves need to be replaced. They are becoming a safety issue. I worry every day that the shelves are going to fall on someone and hurt them. What are new book shelves without new books to fill them with? The new books will offer an opportunity to explore new places and people in the comfort of our classroom. My hope is for my students to fall in love with a character or author and this love will spark a life-long passion for reading.
