My Kindergarteners are exploring keeping the beat and responding to music. Shaky eggs are the perfect size for their hands. They listen to the soft sounds as they play along with the music, especially percussive Afro-Latin grooves. My students also love to move and explore with fabric. The scarves are delicate. They can float and sway in their creative hands.
The first graders will create melodies with the Boom whackers.
Imagine their expressions when they can easily master playing the C major scale, Twinkle and Twinkle and so much more.
The second graders are preparing to play the recorder by learning notation and the notes on the G clef. They are so excited to play "an instrument" that will fit into our schools music goals, not to mention performing their repertoire at the school spring concert.
