I teach many students after school. Usually we have a physical education class. This year, I want my students to be able to learn and use some skills which will help them later in life.
It's never too early to learn a life skill. My students are exceptionally overjoyed when it comes to learning new skills. I want to give them an opportunity past academic learning and off technology. Many adults today are not able to use sewing skills to sew a button or mend a garment. The item then turns into waste.
This project will help me provide my students with an opportunity to not only learn these skills, but take them into their adult life. I want my students to learn the value of an item and be able to "fix something that is broken."
