It's Time to Take Off Lady Pirates!
My students need equipment such as a pitching machine to help them see and hit the ball. The pitching machine will give them accurate and consistent pitching.
Our school is located in Georgia. The coaching staff here has the great privilege of working with a special group of girls in softball. These ladies are committed to succeeding both as a student and as an athlete. There are 14 young ladies on the high school softball team.
A coach will impact more young people in a year than the average person does in a lifetime.
I take my job as coach seriously. Not only do I serve as coach, I also wear the hats of counselor, mentor, and father-figure. These girls have become a part of my family and I am deeply committed to seeing them succeed in all of their endeavors.
The equipment that I am seeking donations for are essential to any softball program. The pitching machine will enable me to provide my athletes with consistent accurate balls and real pitching scenarios without having to tire out my pitcher. The pitching screen will help my pitcher develop her pitching skills during practice both during the season and in the off season.
Most of the students I coach are first-time players.Due to being the only coach and coaching at a Title 1 school, where most of the students weren't introduced or exposed to softball at an early age, I spend the majority of our practice time teaching fundamentals of the game.
However, the girls have a drive to want to get better. With this equipment, I will be able to sharpen skills that are emerging and teach fundamentals.
