My students are absolutely wonderful! Each morning they come in ready to learn. They are so excited to get to our classroom, that they often try to skip breakfast. I have to tell my students to please eat and we will get started with our daily routines once everyone is in the classroom. Most of my students are homeless and come from single parent households. Some of my students live with their grandparents or other relatives. When our school day starts, we say positive affirmations to promote self esteem and motivation. The students say their affirmations with energy and enthusiasm! Throughout our day, if student behavior is heading in the wrong direction, we revisit our affirmations to ensure we are doing our best to make our day successful. Our classroom is arranged to promote learning. It is a safe environment where the students and I facilitate learning through hands-on learning experiences.
