These materials will allow my students the opportunity to 3D print objects and supplies to be made in our maker space, as well as for use on classroom projects. They will be able to make objects and items that can be used in the classroom, as well as things that will help them with STEAM projects and classroom based learning as well.
Access to a 3D printer will further their ability to create and build. In the past, my students have created a variety of items related to their learning (balloon powered cars, automatons, etc.). This will provide them with more options and opportunity to explore and create, while interacting with technology in a way that will provide them with skills that can be translated into real-world work opportunities as they age. Additionally, this year my students are focusing their work on a community outreach project - this 3D printing material will help them in completing this project.
