The goal here is to add as much professionalism to our school's movie club as possible. The students could simply use cell phone tech, but a handful are genuinely interested in pursuing careers that involve cinematography. Working with the equipment for the real-world field of film making would be an undeniable experience. This type of technology will additionally inspire future innovation if students pursue it.
This modest investment will go a long way in producing the quality projects our students want. Other career options in movie-making might be realized through getting this better equipment. Students will see our club as more legitimate and not just bystanders taking random vids.
The items requested will be used to film movie shorts, 5 or 6 minute presentations. The need for quality lighting equipment is essential for showing students what is needed in the performing arts world. More specifically, the lamps and reflectors allow light to be consistent, and where things such as shadows do not pose a problem in a shot. It is moreover important for our students who wish to be directors, editors, designers, and grips on actual film sets.
