I want to provide my students with literature about other cultures and the black community. They are at an impressionable age to learn about other religions, backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures so we can help shape them into tomorrow's leaders.
Racism in this country needs to stop, and through literature and conversations with my students about these books, we are working towards a better tomorrow. I know that supporting my students will open up ideas that they might not have encountered in their lives, and these important conversations can happen. Through literature we can open the minds of our youth and change the future of our country, one book at a time.
