My students live in an area where they are faced with challenges on a daily basis. Our district is situated in a lower socio-economic area and this can make attaining everyday needs difficult. In this picture, my students are attending our fall festival.
We are an alternative program, which means our students come to us as a result of a poor choice made on their part. This could be anything from wandering the halls and not attending class to weapons being brought to school.
Our school offers our students different program choices. The independent study program offers students a blended approach where they attend for two hours in the morning, completing on-line courses, and finish their work at home. Others attend school in the afternoon for four hours, concentrating on required subjects. My afternoon students would benefit from this project. Please consider making their learning experience more fun!
