Erik, Kevin, and Lydia are the leaders for this project. They are the classroom leaders for our Maker Space elective. Everyday these three go to the garden and check the status of the crops. The three leaders are also in charge of planning weekly gardening activities for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes.
Gardening teaches students many skills. For one, it teaches us responsibility. We are responsible for keeping the garden clean, watering our crops, removing the weeds, and taking care of the tools. The garden also teaches us about where our food comes from. A great skill especially when our city is considered a food desert.
