If we are able to receive the folders and markers requested the students will be able to journal their learning when they are on instructional software. Students will be able to track their learning on instructional software and work out problems that they need to show their learning. Our students come from low socioeconomic households and they suffer from having financial burdens. Often times our students are not able to bring in folders or everyday supplies. Our teachers try their best to include as much supplies as they can, but they are also limited as to what they can afford. The folders and markers will give the students a chance to journal their math and literacy work and to keep it all in one place. The students will be able to have something that is theirs, they will be able to fully use the instructional software to make learning gains.
Our students come to us on average about a year behind, these journals will offer our students a chance to tracker their learning, and to refer back to their notes for future reference. Teachers will use these journals to work with the students on new concepts that they have learned. The students will also receive incentives for reaching their learning goals.
