My students need books that they can actually feel motivated to read. Our library struggles to keep up with the demands of all of my kids, especially my sweet boys. They are the hardest target audience to reach with reading. Many of these books are aimed at them either because they have something to do with sports or because they have become more popular due to being a movie or TV show. These books will help my students be more motivated to read! Reading opens the door for students to excel in writing, science, social studies, and yes, even math! We need citizens who can read and who can understand what they read.
