STEM science materials will having a tremendous impact on the learning of my students. I have students in class with unique learning needs, including students who do not speak English and students with autism. STEM activities are all hands-on activities and allow students to contribute and feel like a valued member of the classroom.
Students' school lives are improved because they are not only learning, but they're having fun doing so. I am also able to use our STEM activities in other subjects, including language arts. Students are excited and motivated to publish their work into a finished product and present them to the class.
The STEM science kits I've requested involved many concepts, most of which focus on physics and engineering. Elementary students will be able to learn concepts typically reserved for high school age students. The materials I requested involve having students work with building circuits, constructing mechanical devices with gears and worm drives, building structures such as bridges, and a final kit that introduces students to Newton's Laws of Motion. I will introduce and model each kid in a whole group setting. After that, students will work in groups to explore and accomplish building objectives.
