By making food together, we will be feeding our bodies and our community! The Wexler Grant Cooking Club is designed to teach students cooking skills and practice a variety of cooking techniques from different cultures. Students will get to try a variety of foods, learn about nutrition, collaboration, cleanliness/food safety, and how their diets impact climate change.
Each week, students will be making food from their home culture: Mexican cuisine, African-American cuisine, or African cuisine. We will talk about the origins of the flavors, the carbon footprint of the ingredients, and the cost-effectiveness of the meal. Through this club, they will learn civics, history, nutrition, and math!
