When students have the ability to choose where and how to learn, they are empowered to take ownership of their learning. When students have little choice as where to sit, they can become stagnant in their learning.
Some students need to fidget to be able to concentrate, and a wobbly seat will give them the movement they need just as the wobble stools can help students working at tables.
Can you think back to how many times a student in a class was told not to tip their chair? There is a natural need to move, and flexible seating will allow students to learn in comfort. Flexible seating will not only reduce stress but will help students focus their attention on learning tasks and not on the negative cues their body can be emitting.
